2010 Avalon 50 Mile

Beth Simpson and Larry Hall logged the first Ultra of the LPTR year... Beth dropped me a note...

"Larry and I just returned from running the Avalon 50 on Catalina Island.   It's a beautiful island off the coast of L.A. (doesn't even feel like it should be in the U.S.!!) Larry finished in 8:49 and I finished in 10:21. We both won our age group. See attached photo!"

The Avalon 50 website describes the race as “One of the country's most challenging and scenic 50-milers. No cars, no smog, just great terrain, incredible views, fascinating historical sites, a well-organized race, nice people, great food . . . and even an occasional buffalo sighting.”
